The NFL Wild Card Round playoff matchup between the Minnesota Vikings and Los Angeles Rams will no longer be played at SoFi Stadium.
Instead, the two teams will play Monday’s game at State Farm Stadium, home of the Arizona Cardinals, the NFL announced Thursday.
The announcement came shortly after the Rams canceled player media availability after Thursday’s practice. A new fire broke out Thursday near West Hills, an area where many Rams players and staff live.
Prior to Thursday’s announcement, the league said it planned to continue Monday night’s game between the Vikings and Rams in Los Angeles. But it also released an emergency plan in case the situation in Southern California worsens. As of Thursday evening, at least 180,000 residents had been evacuated and thousands of structures had been destroyed.
Monday’s game is one of the few already affected by the bushfires. The Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Kings each had their games postponed starting Wednesday.
Tickets for Monday’s game will be available to Rams season ticket holders starting at 10 a.m. PT on Friday. The general public will be able to purchase tickets two hours later.
The Rams and several players recently took to social media to offer support to the community.
The Los Angeles Chargers, who will travel to play the Houston Texans on Saturday, have pledged to donate $200,000 to wildfire relief efforts.
