This isn’t just a retro-style microphone, it’s an all-in-one tool for music producers who want to record vocals on the go. It’s created by Hisong, a startup looking for a more elegant alternative to carrying a microphone, mixer, and headphones with you wherever you go. AirStudio One is a wireless condenser microphone with a few secrets hidden inside, including a professional audio interface, wireless USB-C dongle, and true wireless headphones. The idea is that you can record powerful vocals on the go without any additional hardware.
AirStudio One is more than just an ordinary microphone. Designed with a multi-core digital signal processor, it delivers the best sound in a slim body. Open the companion app on your phone and you can even mix audio, set EQ, and apply audio effects in real time. This isn’t the first product we’ve seen at CES with more meat inside the microphone. Shure’s MV7i offers its own two-channel audio interface.
You can also use it to record sound from video, and if you choose an analog dongle, you can also output sound to any device with a 3.5mm line input. It can be said that microphone sound quality testing was impossible at CES due to ambient noise. But this is the kind of device that has “interesting prospects” stamped all over it. It will provide a deeper impetus when it becomes available for purchase later this year.
