The Palisades Fire in Los Angeles, California has sent thick, thick smoke billowing across the region, requiring evacuations.
Officials said the fire grew from 20 acres to more than 200 acres in about 20 minutes after it was reported around 10:30 a.m. local time.
The growth was fueled by fierce winds that prompted red flag warnings for much of the state.
