Tens of thousands of people have been forced to evacuate as wildfires sweep through Los Angeles’ Pacific Palisades neighborhood, burning homes in the area, including homes owned by celebrities.
The Palisades Fire, fueled by strong Santa Ana winds, started in the Santa Monica Mountains late Tuesday morning and quickly engulfed 200 acres in an hour, rising to nearly 3,000 acres by sunset, FOX Weather reported.
Orange County Fire Chief Brian Fennessy appeared on “Fox News @ Night” Tuesday and provided an update on how firefighters are battling the fast-moving flames, but what can be done to stop them. He said the fire brigade is concentrating as there is not much damage. Evacuate and rescue anyone still in the area.
“Our main focus is protecting people and lives from these fires,” Fennessy said. “There’s not much we can do other than get people out of these fires and then attack them. That’s certainly been the story of the day in the Palisade.”

Reality TV star Spencer Pratt and his wife Heidi Montag, who he started dating on The Hills, lost their home in the Palisades fire, Pratt and Montag confirmed on their Snapchat accounts Tuesday.
In a series of videos, Pratt showed the fire moving quickly over the hill and into the house.
“Well, things don’t look good,” Pratt said as he captured video of the fire burning on the mountain behind his home. “I saw the flames coming for the first time. Oh, my. Okay, I guess I should go pack my bags.”
He later posted a video from his car saying he was watching his home burn on security cameras.
Montag posted a video showing the grocery store’s house burned down but safe.

Crosby shared a video from the beach Tuesday night, and that post was followed by a video from earlier that day showing smoke near the alley behind her home and on Sunset Boulevard.
Actor James Woods posted a series of videos to X showing his home and a neighbor’s home surrounded by smoke and flames. Woods said his family was safely evacuated from the area and praised first responders and community members who evacuated his children from a nearby elementary school.
“To all the wonderful people who contacted us, thank you for your concern. Just letting you know that we were able to evacuate successfully,” Woods wrote to X. “It’s still standing, but sadly the houses on our little street are not.”
Professional dancer Derek Hough shared a photo of the fire on his Instagram account and said he and his wife were preparing to evacuate with their pets.
“Winds are reaching 100 miles per hour, and we are preparing to evacuate with our five animals,” Huff wrote. “It’s scary to see power lines exploding around us and fires spreading so quickly.”
