After the cold weather arrived, a warm front hit our area. With rapid warming and so much chaos in nature, snowdrops have begun to bloom.. This unusual phenomenon is the result of very unusual temperatures in January.
Warm Front and Record Temperatures
Temperatures in southern Germany and Hungary rose significantly on Sunday due to warm air blowing in from the southwest. In Slovakia, especially in the southwestern region, temperatures in the three kings reached values exceeding +13°C. Likewise, high temperatures continue today. For example, in Hurbanov we already measured +11.1 °C in the morning.
This temperature anomaly is highly unusual. During this period, values can be up to 10°C higher than usual. The warming that occurred in early January is not only unusual, but could also have unfortunate consequences for nature.
