Wrexham may have played in thick fog at the Racecourse on Boxing Day, but star striker Paul Mullin lit up the ground with a first-half strike. Against Blackpool, the Dragons conceded a goal to Ashley Fletcher inside the first five minutes but Mullin answered to keep their promotion campaign on track.
A long throw fell to Ollie Palmer and landed at Mullin’s feet. He was able to stabilize and hit the ball with fluid movement to level the game with a decent volley.
Take a look at your goals:
This goal is only Mullin’s second Ligue 1 goal of a season that has taken a challenging step forward for him. Mullen, who scored 38 goals for Wrexham in League Two, was expected to be a big part of their campaign this season but has been in and out of the lineup due to injuries and poor form. Strikers are growing in confidence, and goals like this could help turn his season around.
Wrexham are aiming for a third successive promotion from the National League after winning League Two. Wrexham, who currently sit third in League One, will qualify for the play-offs as things stand but will need to get past an experienced team with Championship experience to secure automatic promotion behind Tom Brady’s Birmingham City and Wycombe Wanderers. Securing it makes their Hollywood dreams really come true.
