In Washington DC, there’s news that food workers are organizing mass protests that will target members of the incoming Trump administration.
Industry veterans, bartenders and servers have vowed to refuse service and cause mayhem in restaurants across the capital.
First reported in Washington A story titled “Crash is coming for Trump officials dining out in DC” describes the culinary revolt.
“Change in politics will be visceral across many aspects of everyday life. Do you think the public will ignore RFK’s meal at Le Diplomate on a Sunday morning after a few mimosas and not throw a drink in his face?” says Zac Hoffman, D.C. restaurant veteran and current manager of the National Democratic Club. (But never worked for Le Diplomate).
The magazine interviewed anonymous waiters, bartenders and others who are trying to make dining out a miserable experience for anyone connected to the Trump administration.

Democrats value tolerance and acceptance, but etiquette and basic table manners are not as important. If you don’t pledge allegiance to their far-left agenda or ideology, it’s of no use!
In 2018, the owner of the Red Hen in Lexington, Virginia, ordered then-White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders and her dinner guests to leave the restaurant. They were denied service.
Sanders posted a message on social media explaining that the owner would not cater to his party because he worked for President Trump. Sanders politely left the company.
“Her actions say much more about her than they do about me,” Sanders wrote. “I have always done my best to treat people respectfully, even those with whom I disagree, and I will continue to do so.”
The Washingtonian also said: From Stephen Miller to Sen. Ted Cruz, there have been multiple instances of Republicans being publicly shamed at D.C. restaurants.
Take a look at what happened to fine dining restaurant Fiola in 2018. A group protesting Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court confirmation gathered at an Italian restaurant and confronted Senator Ted Cruz and his wife Heidi, chanting “We believe in the survivors.” The managers called the police and hid the Cruzes in the kitchen until they could safely escape.
The most ironic thing here is that the only candidate who protects the service industry is President Trump. He promised to keep his promise not to tax tips.

And as the Washington native points out, Republicans actually eat more genially and tip better than Democrats.
“I think the average tip received from Republicans is at least closer to 30 percent than I or my colleagues have acknowledged. For Dems, anything over 20 would be surprising,” one high-end bartender told the publication. At events he’s worked at hosted by Republicans, guests ask for casual drinks like bourbon, vodka soda and wine. At Democratic events, he saw more substitutions and special requests.
The D.C. restaurant industry should have a parade to thank President Trump for putting more money back in their pockets. Instead, they will literally spit in his face. And probably spit on his burger too. My recommendation to Republicans is to pack a sandwich for lunch or stop by Chick-fil-A. It is their pleasure to serve everyone, regardless of political affiliation.
