AirTags can monitor more than just keys. Although Apple doesn’t officially recommend Bluetooth trackers for cats and dogs, they are still widely available. GPS tags provide more accurate location monitoring, but tend to be more expensive and require a subscription. These are two factors that make it not an ideal gift.
AirTags use Bluetooth, but their range is impressive, and triangulation between the tag and a nearby iPhone is incredibly accurate, allowing you to move to within a few meters of a lost tag. This will provide ultra-wideband (UWB) directions to within a few feet.
