Baku, Azerbaijan, December 12. Today marks the 21st anniversary of the death of the great leader Heydar Aliyev, architect and founder of the modern independent Azerbaijani state, world-renowned politician and national leader of the Azerbaijani people, Trend reported.
Among those who gathered to remember Heydar Aliyev, the founder of modern independent Azerbaijan and a world-renowned politician, were Ghazi (veterans), military personnel, representatives of various organizations, academics, cultural figures, war and labor veterans, and many others. Scores of visitors laid flowers at the national leader’s grave, paid tribute and paid tribute to his lasting legacy.
The most cherished dream of the great leader Heydar Aliyev was to liberate Karabakh from Armenian occupation and restore Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and sovereignty. This dream came true four years ago, when Azerbaijan, under the leadership of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, successfully regained land that had been occupied for 30 years.
Today, the Azerbaijani flag flies throughout Karabakh, including Shusha, Khankendi and other liberated cities, and the “Great Return” program is being successfully implemented.
The success of independent Azerbaijan and all the victories we have achieved are the triumph of the timeless ideas of a great leader. Heydar Aliyev’s path will always lead Azerbaijan forward.
