Chiefs TE Travis Kelce is in his 12th season with the team and is one of the best players in franchise history. Kelce left Cincinnati in 2015 and was drafted in the third round by Kansas City. He played in 171 games and made 164 starts for the Chiefs. The 35-year-old is a nine-time Pro Bowler and four-time first-team All-Pro selection. For six straight seasons, Kelce has been the best TE in the NFL, but he has taken a step back the past two seasons. His 2023 campaign marks the first time since 2017 that he has not recorded more than 1,000 receiving yards in a season.
Kelce must average at least (72.6) receiving yards in his last five games to have at least 1,000 receiving yards in 2024. Last season, Kelce recorded five receiving touchdowns. This is the lowest figure since 2019. Through 12 games in 2024, the veteran TE has scored just two touchdowns. His last touchdown was on November 10th. On a podcast with his brother Jason, Travis admitted that QB Patrick Mahomes and he are not on the same page this season. He said it was disappointing and that’s why he had just two touchdowns all season. We’ll find out if Kelce can find the end zone in Week 14 when the Chiefs host the Los Angeles Charges at SNF.
