Emmy Award Winner Jeff Daniels We have launched Season 2 of our audio memoir, “Alive and Well Enough Continues,” which features stories and music from her decades-long career. The podcast, available on Audible, blends stories, music, and skits to provide a unique perspective on Daniels’ journey.
In one clip, the star of “The Newsroom” and “Dumb and Dumber” detailed his experience hosting Saturday Night Live in 1991.
“I had all 15 sketches memorized by Thursday night’s rehearsal,” Daniels said. “If you’ve never done ‘Saturday Night Live’ and are about to do it, don’t memorize all 15 sketches by Thursday night’s rehearsal. Cue them to rewrite. Rewrite pages and pages.”
Daniels explained his intimate approach to his podcast on “CBS Mornings.”
“If you target one listener and they’re walking, on the treadmill, doing whatever, you take them for 30 minutes,” he said.
The project, a collaboration with his son Ben, an engineer, allows Daniels to reflect on the lessons learned.
“If I can’t find out more about this life I’ve lived and talk about what I learned from Meryl Streep, what I learned from Mike Nichols, what I learned doing comedy with Jim Carrey, let’s see along the way… People, especially young actors. Share it with ,” he said.
Podcasts aren’t just for fans. It’s also a way for Daniels to share more of his story with his family.
“I want to let them know what I went through this morning, and I want you to know what I went through. As you start writing, it’s something I love to do, but I’ve never been an actor. I want to get creative again.” “I sat down and waited for the phone to ring so I could exercise,” he said.
