Chattanooga FC Press Release
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Chattanooga Football Club and FirstBank are bringing supporters closer to the game through the Chalk Talk series.
The fourth and final installment of the 2024 series took place Dec. 3 at Naked River Brewing Company, right next to Finley Stadium. Some of CFC’s biggest fans enjoyed the company of CFC Technical Director Sebastian Giraldo and CFC Men’s Head Coach Chris Nugent. Burning questions about the 2025 season.
“A few years ago we saw the value of having a soccer team in this city,” said FirstBank Relationship Manager Sherry Babin. “It’s been great to see the club grow and the city embrace it. We’ve done a lot with the club over the years. We’ve hosted financial literacy classes for the players. We’ve played games together for team building. And it’s always a good time because CFC is the only team that all of our employees can agree on.”
Nugent shared tactical insights on how the team approached the final game of the 2024 season against New York Red Bulls II ahead of a public question and answer section attended by supporters.
Giraldo and Nugent spoke about the recruitment process during the off-season, the importance of maintaining the club’s tradition of holding open tryouts, CFC Women’s goals and aspirations, their belief in an evidence-based style of play and the importance of academy integration. Players who join the first team in the long term.
The CFC Men’s team recently completed its 16th season, entering its fourth year as a professional club, and is preparing for its second season competing in MLS NEXT Pro in 2025.
