Venkat Sundaram has been elected unopposed as the president of the Indian Cricketers’ Association (ICA).
The elections ended on November 30 and Sundaram took over as president of the association, succeeding late Aunshuman Gaekwad.
According to a statement from the ICA, Sundaram will serve as president for a term until the next general election of ICA officers scheduled to be held in 2025, under the close supervision of the Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI). India) Election Officer.

During his long career, Sundaram played 81 first-class and 14 List-A matches for Delhi. After retirement, he served as coach of the Indian cricket team on the 1998 tour of Sri Lanka.
He also served as Chief Curator of BCCI and headed the Stadium and Wicket Committee from 2003 to 2005 and again from 2008 to 2010. Afterwards, he also played a pivotal role in charge of Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Stadium in Greater Noida. It is in preparation of land for a home base in Afghanistan.
The position of ICA president has been vacant since Gaegwad’s death on July 31, 2024.
