WNBA superstar Brittney Griner and her wife Cherelle have shared the first photo of their son, Bash Griner.
On Tuesday, November 26, the proud parents gave fans a glimpse into the family of three’s daily life by posting proof shots on their respective Instagrams.
In the sweet photo, the little tot steals the spotlight wearing cute skull pajamas and a black hat, as Greener and Cherelle dote on him.
“Family photography has become a team effort. It’s a series of smiles, tears, feedings and naps,” Cherelle told “CBS Mornings.” “We are loving every moment and can’t wait to take our first Christmas photos with our family.”
Griner and Cherelle announced their pregnancy in April and welcomed Bash on July 8, 2024.
Brittney Griner proudly shared the news in a conversation with CBS Sports ahead of the 2024 Summer Olympics.
“That’s my man. “He is truly amazing,” he said. “They say that as soon as you see them, everything you thought was important goes out the window. “It literally happened.”
He added, “I’m a little sad that I have to leave, but at the same time, I think you’ll understand.”
Griner’s journey to motherhood begins after going through a difficult time in her life. In 2022, she made headlines when she was arrested in Russia after vape cartridges were found in her luggage at a Moscow airport.
Griner, who played basketball in Russia during the WNBA offseason, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to nine years in prison.
She was detained for 10 months before being released in a prisoner swap between the United States and Russia in December 2022, in which Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout traded her freedom.
