Microsoft has announced Edge Game Assist, a way for players to get tips and guides while playing PC games.
Described as a “complete, full-featured in-game browser,” Game Assist allows players to bring up a customized version of the Edge browser as part of the Game Bar overlay.
The browser recognizes the game. This means that if a player has a compatible game running, the browser will automatically suggest tips and guides for that specific game.
However, it could work for any game as well, as players can manually search for help online.
If you wish, you can pin the browser to the top of the screen. This means players can always look at the guide to explore specific sections. Players can also load YouTube videos and play them in tabs alongside actual gameplay.
Game Assist shares the same browser data and cookies as the full version of Edge. This means that players who have their login information saved will not need to log in again during the game.
Players can also use Game Assist to bring up services like Discord, Spotify, and Twitch while playing.
“Our research shows that 40% of PC players search for tips, guides, and other help while playing,” Microsoft said in the announcement. Game Assist makes things easier than ever by highlighting useful resources for your game every time you open a new tab.”
Game Assist lets you bring up the Edge browser while playing any game, but at launch it will support game awareness for nine titles, including Baldur’s Gate 3, Diablo IV, Fortnite, Hellblade II: Senua’s Saga, League of Legends, and Minecraft. Provided. Overwatch 2, Roblox, Valorant.
