Hulk Hogan suggested in an interview with Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade on Saturday that President-elect Trump may give him a role in the upcoming administration.
In the interview, Hogan recalled a conversation he had with Trump at the president-elect’s Madison Square Garden rally in October, in which the former professional wrestler said Trump seemed open to having Hogan participate in Trump’s second term.
“The president said, ‘I think it would be great if you ran the President’s Council on Physical Fitness,’” Hogan said of the conversation at the New York rally.
According to its website, the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition is a federal advisory panel that promotes healthy eating and physical activity. President Biden renewed Congress until September 30, 2025.
The Hill has reached out to the Trump campaign for comment.
Hogan said he came up with this suggestion while discussing nutrition and fitness with President Trump after the rally.
“At the end of the day, when I was sitting in the back of Madison Square Garden after the rally, we were talking about Robert Kennedy, we were talking about nutrition, we were talking about how many foreign countries wouldn’t let their people eat their food. “The food we eat here in America is so bad that it’s harming a generation of children, and eventually we start talking about fitness,” Hogan said.
Hogan’s comments come shortly after Trump appointed anti-vaccination activist and environmental lawyer Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to head the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). His appointment sent shockwaves among public health experts, who feared he could interfere with key government agencies, amplify vaccine hesitancy and directly fund agencies to favor his preferred views. .
Hogan, an ardent ally of Trump, spoke ahead of President Trump’s speech officially accepting his presidential nomination at the Republican National Convention (RNC) last July. Hogan was the crowd favorite as he received the loudest applause of the night.
