FC Cincinnati earned a 1-0 victory over New York City FC in the first game of a three-game series to begin their Audi 2024 MLS Cup Playoffs campaign at TQL Stadium on Monday night.
The Orange and Blue take a 1-0 series lead heading into Game 2 on Saturday, November 2 at Citi Field in New York. Kickoff is set for 5 PM ET and the game will be broadcast exclusively through MLS Season Pass on Apple TV. The game will be broadcast in English on iHeart Media Fox Sports 1360 Radio and in Spanish on La Mega 101.5 FM.
Yamil Asad scored the game-clinching goal for Cincinnati in the 51st minute after a scoreless first half. For Asad, the goal marked his first goal contribution in the MLS Cup Playoffs in his first career playoff game against DC United in 2018. Luciano Acosta combined with Asad for his third career postseason win.

CIN: Yamil Asad, GOAL – 51′ (1-0) – Yamil Asad started and finished the move that led to the only goal of the game in the 51st minute. After taking possession in the New York City half, Asad played in Luca Orellano on the right and then Yuya Kubo inside the box. Kubo forced a save from Matt Freeze with a low shot, but Lucho Acosta entered the penalty box on the other side. Acosta quickly played in a header from Asad across the box and home.
No. 3 FC Cincinnati and No. 6 NYCFC continue their best-of-three first-round series in Game 2 on Saturday, Nov. 2 at Citi Field. Kickoff is set for 5 PM ET and the game will be broadcast exclusively through MLS Season Pass on Apple TV. Game 3, if necessary, will be played at TQL Stadium on Saturday, November 9th at 4pm ET.
