Capcom has announced a Monster Hunter Wilds open beta test.
It’s coming to PS5, Xbox Series
The second phase of the beta, which begins on October 31st, does not require a PlayStation Plus membership or Game Pass Core or Ultimate subscriptions.
The beta supports cross-play across all platforms and consists of three parts: a full character creation tool, a story trial, and the free-roaming Doshaguma Hunt.
Players will be able to carry over their character creation data from the full version of the game, which will be released on February 28, 2025.
The story trial allows players to experience the opening cutscene and play the Chatacabra hunt through the basic tutorial.
“The goal of Doshaguma Hunt is to defeat the alpha of the Doshaguma horde,” Capcom said. “Switch between two weapon types on the fly as you explore the vast lands of Seikret and experience the latest in hunting action.”
“You can experience both the Story Trial and Doshaguma Hunt alone, or use SOS flares to create a party of up to four players online or enlist the help of NPC support hunters.”
Monster Hunter Wilds producer Ryozo Tsujimoto announced the beta during the game’s digital showcase on Tuesday, which was also used to reveal a new trailer. You can rewatch the entire presentation via the YouTube video at the top of this article.
Capcom recently revealed a Japan-exclusive Ultra Collector’s Edition for Monster Hunter Wilds that comes with a bike and costs 181,590 yen ($1,260).
