Smile 2 just came out in theaters on Friday, October 18th, but pre-orders for the horror sequel’s final Blu-ray release are already live at online retailers. There’s no specific release date, but several physical versions of the Smile 2 have been revealed, including a limited edition steelbook version.
Smile 2 Limited Edition Steelbook 4K Blu-ray
$45
This two-disc edition of Smile 2 includes the film in 4K UHD, standard Blu-ray, and digital download formats. Bonus features haven’t been revealed, but we at least know that the film will be housed in a limited edition steelbook case with a unique cover and interior art.
Pre-orders are available on Amazon and Walmart, but prices vary. Amazon sells the 4K Steelbook edition for $45, and Walmart sells it for $35. Expect prices to change accordingly sometime before the Blu-ray is released. Either way, if you order from either retailer, you’ll be covered by our Pre-Order Price Guarantee. This means you only pay the lowest price and you aren’t charged until your order ships.
Smile 2 is also available in non-steelbook 4K Blu-ray and DVD editions. Both are available for pre-order on Amazon.
Just like the first movie <스마일 2>is a horror story in which people are cursed with disturbing hallucinations of smiles that no one else can see until they are eventually murdered. The sequel follows the story of a new protagonist, pop singer Skye Riley (Naomi Scott), who unknowingly inherits a curse just before she sets off on tour.
For newcomers to the series who want to see the origins of the curse, the first Smile film is also available in several Blu-ray editions, including a two-disc steelbook edition like the one featured in Smile 2. $39 from online retailer Zavvi. The Steelbook edition includes the first Smile movie in 4K and standard Blu-ray formats, as well as the short film that started the franchise, Laura Hasn’t Sleep. There are also special features:
- Commentary by director Parker Finn
- Rose’s in Trouble: Smiling Special
- Flies On The Wall: Inside The Score Feature
- Deleted scenes with optional commentary by Parker Finn
The steelbook edition seems like the perfect way to catch up on the series before Smile 2 comes out on Blu-ray. However, if you want something a little simpler and cheaper, you can also pick up the 4K and standard Blu-ray versions of Smile on Amazon rather than the Steelbook.
Horror fans will also want to check out pre-orders for Terrifier 3, which recently opened in theaters but is already set for a Blu-ray release on December 17th. The brutal killer clown slasher film is also getting a 4K collector’s edition. Another version.
