Kamala Harris distanced herself from President Joe Biden and criticized her Republican presidential rival, Donald Trump, during a heated interview with Fox News anchor Brett Baier on Wednesday. I did it.
“Let me be clear: my presidency will not be a continuation of Joe Biden’s presidency,” Harris told the conservative news network after Bayer pressed her on whether the vice president would do anything different from the sitting president.
“And like every new president who takes office, I will bring my life experiences, my professional experiences, and my fresh, new ideas,” the Democratic candidate said.
The 26-minute interview focused on immigration issues, with Harris again criticizing Trump for killing bipartisan legislation to address the crisis at the southern border.
The interview was tense from the first conversation, when Bayer repeatedly interrupted Harris’ initial answers about immigration. “Please let me finish… I’m responding to the points you raised and I want to finish,” Harris said earlier.
Some of the most memorable moments include:
- Whether she should apologize to the families of three women killed by undocumented immigrants:
“I think we’ve had a broken immigration system since well beyond the Donald Trump administration. I’ll be honest with you all about that. I have no pride in saying that this is a perfect immigration system. We all have to deal with this. “I think it needs to be fixed.”
- New Trump ad says taxpayer money is being used for gender reassignment
“I think (Trump) spent $20 million on advertising to create fear among voters because he doesn’t actually have a plan to focus on the needs of the American people in this election. About this 2 “Ten million dollars. Advertising on the biggest issues affecting the American people is actually a very distant issue, and his policies were no different.”
- How is she different from Biden?
“I represent a new generation of leadership. For example, I’m someone who hasn’t spent most of my career in Washington, D.C. I’m asking for ideas, whether they’re Republicans who supported me or Republicans who just took the stage.” A few minutes ago, it was just me and the business sector and other people who can contribute to the decisions I make.”
- On what Trump said to voters
“He’s a man who talks about the enemy within. within, The enemy within speaking against the American people. He suggested that US troops be attacked by the American people. You and I know that he has talked about turning the American military on to the American people. He talked about tracking down people participating in peaceful protests. He talked about locking up people who disagree with him. “This is a democracy, and in a democracy the president of the United States should be able to deal with criticism without saying he’s going to lock people up.”
- Is Trump Fit to Be President?
“To every Republican who has stood on stage with me over the past decade, former Chief of Staff to the President Donald Trump, former Secretary of Defense, National Security Advisor and Vice President, he has professed to be unfit to serve, unstable, dangerous and a leader. “People are getting tired of people who have personal grievances and are dedicated to belittling people.”
