Live Aware Labs announced today that it has closed a $4.8 million seed funding round. Transcend led the round with participation from a16z Games Speedrun, Lifelike Capital and several angel investors. The company plans to use the funds to build a community feedback platform that is currently used by several game studios and will allow it to collect and analyze player feedback at scale.
Live Aware’s AI-powered platform not only collects feedback data, but also provides actionable insights to developers. According to Live Aware, this helps developers build an engaged community of gamers throughout the entire development process and understand what the community thinks and wants. It also improves game quality by incorporating feedback throughout the entire process, from early development to post-launch operations, with no integration required at all.
Live Aware CEO Sean Vesce said in an interview with GamesBeat: “At its core, Live Aware is about helping game developers understand and act on player feedback at scale. In an industry where aligning developer vision and player expectations is critical, we’re providing tools that can make a real difference in creating market-defining games. It’s about building with your audience, not despite them.”
Improve your game’s chances of success
Live Aware plans to build platform tools for developers, including expanding information sources and multi-player insights and integrating the latest technologies. “Ultimately, our goal is to empower developers of all sizes to create amazing games that resonate with audiences, and this funding will help us accelerate that mission.”
“Live Aware’s real-time feedback platform is transforming how developers improve the quality of their games and speed up production,” said Andrew Sheppard, General Partner at Transcend. Their innovative approach to capturing player insights and vision to revolutionize game development best practices aligns perfectly with our mission to support the boldest entrepreneurs shaping the future of gaming. Having already secured early support from leading studios, we believe Live Aware will play a key role in helping studios build more compelling and successful titles.”
According to Vesce, Live Aware is evolving to include other information sources as well. “We’re integrating data from a variety of channels, including player commentary, conversations from places like Discord, and survey results to give us a holistic view of our players. experiences. By maintaining context throughout the entire development lifecycle, from early prototypes to post-launch updates, you can provide unprecedented continuity in understanding how player emotions evolve. We believe this approach will enable teams of all shapes and sizes to build better games, faster, and with a much greater chance of achieving commercial success.”
