Oleksandr Usyk became world heavyweight champion with a split decision win over Tyson Fury in May. But according to Frank Warren Fury, he knows what needs to change.
Tyson Fury ‘knows what he did wrong’
Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk will rematch on December 21 with Saudi Arabia hosting the heavyweight title fight again.
Usyk should be the favorite for the fight as he beat Fury last time out, but the ‘Gypsy King’ is more confident than ever in his abilities against anyone in the world.
According to his promoter Frank Warren, Fury knows what he did wrong in his first fight with Usyk and is preparing for the rematch with more knowledge of his opponent since their first meeting.
“His (Fury) mentality is that if you want to win, you have to knock him out.” Warren said. “So I think it’s really interesting.
“He knows what he did wrong. It was a back and forth fight and at one stage in the 7th round I genuinely thought he was going to stop him in the next round.
“(Usyk) stumbled back to the corner and he came out and hit him in the nose with a shot that seemed to take all of Tyson’s momentum and focus.”

The fight went both ways throughout the 12-round bout, with Usyk winning the heavyweight title via split decision by the judges.
“I believe he knows what he needs to do. He has a great boxing mind and I truly believe he will win.”
“Everyone can’t wait for this fight. I definitely can’t. The first fight was probably one of the best heavyweight bouts of the 21st century. “If it’s half as good, I’ll be satisfied.”
The heavyweight title fight is sure to be boxing’s biggest blockbuster event of the year. The first meeting ranked among the top 10 most-watched boxing events of all time, generating more than $50 million in pay-per-view revenue.
