Joe Biden seems troubled by Donald Trump and his most recent misinformation antics.
The Democratic president lashed out at his predecessor during a news conference Thursday, citing the federal government’s response to Hurricanes Helen and Milton.
When asked by a reporter whether he had ever discussed this topic with former President Biden, he responded, “Are you kidding?”
He took a deep breath and said: President Trump, former President Trump, get a life. Please help these people.”
Biden focused on a specific rumor, refuting the claim that individuals would only receive $750 in disaster relief payments.
“The $750 they’re talking about, President Trump and everyone else knows it’s a lie to suggest that’s all they’re going to get,” he said.
“That’s strange. “It’s strange,” Biden added. “This has to stop. I mean, the way they talk about this is so un-American.”
In addition to rumors of $750 storm relief, Trump falsely suggested that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) had diverted disaster funds to aid unrelated immigrants and that the government had intentionally withheld aid from Republican-leaning areas.
Misinformation about disaster response has become so prevalent that FEMA’s website has sought to directly address disinformation about its work.

Hurricane Milton slammed into Florida along the Gulf Coast on Wednesday, about two weeks after Hurricane Helen made landfall in the southeastern United States.
According to media estimates, Milton killed at least 13 people. It also knocked out power to millions, caused several tornadoes and even tore the roof off the Tropicana Field stadium in St. Petersburg.
