Ted Lasso follows the eponymous character after he is hired as the manager of an English Premier League soccer team. His only previous coaching experience was as an American college football coach, and as you can imagine, he is somewhat underprepared for that job. Along with Sudeikis’ standout performance as Ted, Hannah Waddingham is superb as AFC Richmond owner Rebecca Welton and Brett Goldstein is adept at capturing the gruff and always unfunny football star Roy Kent.
The Ted Lasso character became an internet sensation thanks to the character’s radical positivity. Each week during the show’s run, a sound coach offered a perspective rarely shown on popular modern TV shows. Whether you like soccer or sports in general, if you need some positivity, Ted Lasso is worth checking out.
