Dhruv Gandhi, co-founder and CEO of Simpliforge Creations, said the foundation work for the 11- to 11.5-foot-tall structure, spread over approximately 2,500 square feet, was done using conventional construction techniques, with the portion raised 10 feet above the ground, excluding the beams. “The foundation work took about two weeks, including one week for construction and one week for curing. The slab and finishing work took a little over two weeks. “The 3D printing work was completed in one month,” said Gandhi, noting that the cost of the structure was about 20 percent higher than that of conventional construction.
While the IIT-H team was responsible for the design analysis and surveyed the structure, Simpliforge Creations prepared the design and carried out construction of the project.
