Ibrahima Konate caused quite a stir with his clothing choice while playing for France, but the reaction from Liverpool’s squad may have been the best.
The Liverpool centre-back is one of 18 first-team players to feature for his country during the October international break, and he wasted no time in making a statement.
When he arrived at the French base in Clairefontaine, Konate emerged from his car wearing a suit, but his head was completely covered by a neon yellow hoodie.
You could tell he enjoyed exposing himself to the waiting cameras, and he made sure to strike a pose as he made his way inside. – As you can see in the video video below:

But what was particularly interesting was the reaction of Liverpool team-mates to what could be described as a bold fashion statement.
Konate showed off his appearance in his Instagram post with the caption ‘Faceless’. This prompted Curtis Jones to simply reply ‘wtf’ and Ryan Gravenberch to reply with a thinking emoji.
But the best response is from Alexis Mac Allister.
After Virgil van Dijk posted a photo of his ultra-chic arrival for his return to the Dutch camp, Mac Allister tagged Konate and said: “Serious man, learn from the captain.”
The two had a fun conversation and Konate said, “Wow Alexis Van Dijk! “Good son,” the Argentine replied, “I love you too, Ibu.”
Konate has only played in one of the last seven matches and arrives in France with many unknowns in terms of playing time, with Didier Deschamps preferring William Saliba and Dayot Upamecano.
The French national team will face Israel (October 10) and Belgium (October 14) in the Nations League this month.
