Lawyer and political commentator George Conway reacted with glee after being criticized by conservative firebrand Bill O’Reilly over an attack ad targeting Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
O’Reilly called Conway “despicable” while criticizing an ad from Anti-Psychopath PAC, a political action committee that has long been Trump’s opponent.
“I’m not the type to brag, but I have to admit I think this is a tremendous honor,” Conway, the ex-husband of former Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway, wrote to X on Friday.
He thanked O’Reilly and added, “I’d like to live up to this by producing more ads like this in the near future.”
O’Reilly said of his show, “No Spin News”: The former Fox News host said he saw an anti-Trump ad created by Conway’s PAC while watching the vice presidential debate. He called the place ‘disgusting’ and ‘disgusting’ and then took it personally.
“I think this guy is a despicable human being,” he said of Conway.
O’Reilly did not provide details about the specific ad he saw. But Conway deduced that he was talking about one of the PAC’s two new ads featuring a woman who has accused the Republican presidential candidate of sexual assault.
Conway concluded his answer with the following question: “I don’t remember. Maybe you can all remind me. How and why did O’Reilly lose his position at @FoxNews?”
O’Reilly was kicked out of the network in 2017 amid sexual harassment allegations. The former “O’Reilly Factor” host later paid a $32 million settlement.
