Former President Trump’s running mate, Senator JD Vance (Republican, Ohio), is holding a rally on Saturday evening in the battleground state of Pennsylvania.
The event took place just days before Vance was scheduled to debate Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, a Democrat. CBS News, which hosts the forum, announced the debate rules Friday.
Former President Trump, who is campaigning in Wisconsin on Saturday, is scheduled to return to the Keystone State on Sunday with a rally in Erie, Pennsylvania. He plans to visit again late next week and hold a campaign event at the site of the assassination. Try it early this summer.
The race in Pennsylvania remains closely contested, with Trump trailing Vice President Harris by nearly two points, 49.2% to 47.9%, according to a polling index from The Hill/Decision Desk HQ.
Vance is scheduled to speak at 5:15 PM EDT in Newtown, Pennsylvania.
