Former President Donald Trump heaped praise on North Carolina Lieutenant Governor Mark Robinson’s acquisition of the governor’s mansion.
But when asked Thursday whether he would withdraw his support for Robinson in light of the candidate’s porn site scandal, Trump suddenly said nothing.
When asked by a reporter about his withdrawal of support, President Trump said, “I don’t know the situation.” Then he left.
Revelations about Robinson’s online behavior made headlines last week after CNN published a bombshell report about the candidate. It is unlikely that President Trump, who reportedly watched about eight hours of TV news a day during his presidency, is completely unaware of the anger surrounding the man he once called “one of the Republican Party’s great stars.”
Despite expressing many anti-trans views on the campaign trail and portraying transgender people as perverts who sneak into bathrooms, Robinson has revealed to adult websites that she enjoys transgender porn, according to CNN. The report also found that the candidate admitted in comments that he secretly watched naked women in gym showers when he was a teenager.
In another comment, Robinson said she wasn’t interested in celebrity abortions, adding: “I just want to see a sex tape!” Robinson has publicly called abortion “murder”, said he would sign a six-week ban, and revealed in a recording leaked by an opposition group earlier this month that he actually wanted a “zero-week” ban. .
On the porn site, Robinson also referred to himself as a “black Nazi.” CNN said it expressed support for restoring slavery.
Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign said it was absurd to believe that President Trump was not updated on the Robinson scandal.
“Trump has visited North Carolina twice since the news broke and still stands by Robinson, even as those who know him best are abandoning him,” spokeswoman Ammar Moussa said in a statement.

Robinson called reports of his post “lies” and admitted it “might have happened.” The scandal led to the resignation of senior staffers who worked on his campaign.
Before CNN’s report, Trump had regularly praised Robinson as an “outstanding man,” “a friend,” “the brave heart of our time” and “Martin Luther King on steroids.”
“You have to cherish that person. “It’s like fine wine,” Trump said of Robinson in December.
The Republican presidential candidate was an early supporter of Robinson’s campaign, holding a fundraiser for him at Mar-a-Lago and giving him a speaking slot at the Republican National Convention.
Immediately after the scandal broke, the Trump campaign said any reports that it planned to withdraw support for Robinson were false and that he was “focused on winning the White House and saving the country.”
