Capcom announced today at its State of Play event that the upcoming action RPG Monster Hunter Wilds will be released on February 28, 2025. It will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Capcom also released a cinematic trailer for the game, which revealed more about the world and story.
The trailer shows off some of the monsters the player will encounter while hunting, including the game’s main monster, the Arkveld and the White Wraith. The hunters rescue Nata, a young boy whose village was destroyed by the Wraith, and form a research committee to investigate this supposedly extinct species. The player character is part of the committee’s Avis Unit.
Monster Hunter is one of Capcom’s biggest franchises, with over 100 million units sold worldwide, according to the company’s most recent quarterly financial report. Monster Hunter World continues to be a big seller, and two Monster Hunter Stories games also drove IP sales during the quarter.
Capcom also revealed the pre-order bonuses, which include a special knight costume and a digital artbook. They promise to reveal more details about the game at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show.
