Speaking of Morris and Taye, when I went to the press Best Man: The Final ChaptersMorris said he struggled with some of the choreographed dance routines, but when asked the same question, he praised you and Taye for being great dancers. Have there been any challenges with the franchise that might surprise fans?
When we did the first one best manI had never done a lot of comedy before, so I was really, really nervous. There was a scene where Lance is trying to stop the wedding, and we go to church and (Morris) is so strong, he literally drags us through the church by his feet. I read (the script) and I was like, “Malcolm, you want me to drag you? Come on, I already look like an idiot. Now you want me to drag you through the church? That’s crazy!” And he was like, “Harold, listen, it’s funny, trust me.” I was like, “Malcolm, it’s not funny to me. I’m not getting dragged. It’s not funny.” That was one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen. By the time I got back on set, I was like, let’s do it. Come on, let’s do it. I love it.
