BRUSSELS (BRUSSELS MORNING) – European Council President Charles Michel reaffirmed the EU’s unwavering support for Ukraine, condemned Russian aggression and highlighted the country’s courage and shared values.
In a video message for the fourth summit of the International Crimean Platform, EU Council President Charles Michel emphasized that Crimea is recognized as part of Ukraine, a position that has been consistently confirmed for the past 10 years. He noted that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the illegal occupation of Crimea. He stressed that the conflict between Russia and Ukraine did not begin in February 2022, but with the 2014 attack on Crimea, which was followed by a full-scale invasion in February 2022.
