When Lady Gaga’s mother, Cynthia Germanotta, told her daughter she believed she had met the man she was going to marry five years ago, the “Joker: Polly A Do” star was mildly skeptical.
But after meeting businessman Michael Polanski, she quickly realized he was “the missing piece of my life.”
“My mom met him, and she was like, ‘I think I just met your husband,’ and I was like, ‘I’m not ready to meet my husband yet!’” the 38-year-old told Vogue. “I never imagined that my mom… had found the most perfect person for me.”
Germanotta met Polanski while working for Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation, and Gaga first met Polanski in 2019 at a birthday party for Facebook founder Sean Parker. Polanski was a colleague of Parker’s, and Gaga went to the event to get to know him.

They ended up talking for three hours. “We had an incredible conversation,” she told Vogue.
“I didn’t know her very well and honestly wasn’t sure what to expect,” Polanski confessed, adding that upon arriving at the party, someone told him the “Just Dance” singer was looking for him. “I was immediately struck by her warmth and openness. She seemed genuinely curious about what my life was like growing up in Minnesota.”
Their love grew as the pandemic spread, and they spent time together at her home in Malibu.
“I’ve never met anyone like Michael. He’s so smart and kind,” Gaga said. “And his life and my life are so different. He’s a very private person, and he’s not with me for any reason other than we’re a perfect fit for each other.”
“But what I want my fans to know is that I’m just a normal person,” she added. so I am happy. I am healthy.”
“I felt like I was going to have to do this alone forever. It was really scary, because life is so long. And I don’t think anyone knows what it feels like unless they’re in it. And I don’t have to do this alone anymore.”
The “Bad Romance” singer said she felt like the last time fans heard a “rumor” about her was her 2020 album “Chromatica.”

“That album was about a really terrible time for my mental health,” she explained. “I was in a really dark place. I was struggling, like, many It was a few years before that, but everything started to change because I had a real friend who saw it. method “Why I was unhappy and why. Gaga had been engaged twice before — to “Chicago Fire” actor Taylor Kinney and talent agent Chris Carino — but after both breakups, she worried she’d never meet the right person.
