It’s been four years since the last Crash Bandicoot. Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time It was developed by Toys for Bob and published by Activision, but the reason I’m talking about this is because there was another game in development.
According to a comprehensive report from Did You Know Gaming (which we highly recommend watching in its entirety), Toys for Bob was developing a Spyro the Dragon crossover game called Crash Bandicoot 5.
But what surprised everyone was that the entire project was eventually canceled.
The video revealed the following facts before it was canceled: crash bandicoot 5 There were two main distinct concepts being explored. The initial concept was that Crash would revisit the Academy of Evil, a famous location from Crash Twinsanity. These plot elements from Twinsanity will be revisited, according to the reveal, while the larger segment of the Academy of Evil would act as a sort of hub world.
Surprisingly, that initial idea has expanded significantly and evolved into the exciting possibility of a collaboration with Spyro the Dragon. In this new vision, Uka Uka You take on the role of antagonists, and the worlds of Crash and Spyro intersect through interdimensional portals.
Two iconic video game characters team up to take on Uka Uka. Uka Uka He is a Voodoo Mask Spirit, the twin brother of Aku Aku, and the main antagonist of the Crash Bandicoot series. Crash Bandicoot: WarpedHe is ultimately the driving force behind Neo Cortex’s evil plans. Players will have the opportunity to control either Crash or Spyro during gameplay.
It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Activision has decided to cancel Crash Bandicoot 5. The decision was influenced by the company’s decision to move away from big-budget single-player games, as Crash Bandicoot 4 didn’t live up to its sales projections.
