In this case, her husband Connor was using Tinder.
To his credit, Whitney’s husband has admitted it. He has also opened up about his childhood trauma. But his claims of “addiction” may not sit well with him. The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Viewers.
Whitney Leavitt’s husband Connor was on Tinder.
Be forewarned: The discussion of Whitney Leavitt’s husband’s Tinder scandal touches on serious and disturbing topics, including sexual assault and child abuse.
So, as you can see in detail in the TikTok video below, Whitney and Connor have had their own scandals, along with the wider Mormon MomTalk drama involving Taylor, Frankie Paul, and others.
Connor was on Tinder. While he insists he wasn’t pursuing an affair (a claim many on social media doubt), he has admitted to using the dating and hookup app.
In a deeply disturbing seven-minute video, Whitney Leavitt and her husband Connor reveal their Tinder scandal.
Conner had a Tinder profile, but stressed that “it really came from an addiction.”
Whitney’s husband appears to claim that he is “addicted to porn.” As detailed above, this fictional condition is not recognized by the broader psychiatric community. However, “addicted to porn” is often a widely debunked far-right claim. Nothing It can become a self-destructive habit.
Why Was Whitney Leavitt’s Husband on Tinder?
The more important question is, if he was fostering an “addiction” and not pursuing sex, why wouldn’t Connor use dating apps at all? That’s the root cause, not the motivation.
Connor tearfully confided to her therapist that it is not uncommon for survivors of childhood sexual abuse (CSA) to compulsively seek out sexual material in a self-destructive manner.
He revealed that he was a victim of sexual abuse when he was 5 years old. Connor expressed regret that he did not tell his wife much sooner.
People like to say, “Children are resilient,” but the truth is that children have fewer mechanisms to deal with trauma than adults. Sexual abuse is a terrible crime at any age. But a 5-year-old is almost inevitably going to react differently than an adult. It becomes a formative trauma.
It is quite normal for people to find different coping mechanisms to deal with trauma throughout their lives. Sometimes it takes the form of simple behaviors like food, exercise, or sex. It can also take the form of (real) addictions like alcohol, nicotine, or opiates. Long-term processing of trauma can also manifest itself in self-destructive behaviors (like creating a Tinder profile when you are a happily married man).
Of course, we are devastated by what Whitney Leavitt’s husband went through. We can only hope that he can deal with the evil he experienced through counseling. In that sense, the Tinder scandal may have been the wake-up call he needed.
