A man has achieved a Guinness World Record for having the most gaming consoles connected to a single TV.
The record was achieved by Saudi Arabian video game collector Ibrahim Al-Nasser, who made up 444 consoles, which he said were “completely different from each other”.
To achieve this, Al-Nasser connected hundreds of consoles to a single TV via multiple HDMI switchers. The first console in his collection was a Magnavox Odyssey, while the latest model is a PlayStation 5 Slim model.
He also maintains a spreadsheet that assigns each console to a specific HDMI switcher to keep track of which consoles he plans to power on.
“For me, the best games console of all time is the Sega Genesis. Always, forever,” Al-Nasser told Guinness.
But Al-Nasser’s impressive gaming collection doesn’t end with consoles. As you can see in the video below, he’s amassed countless other gaming items, including several arcade machines and a slew of rare Metal Gear Solid memorabilia.
The record was confirmed by Guinness, the world record-keeping organization known for publishing records every year.
Since the mid-2000s, the company has moved away from collecting records and now offers its services as a promotional tool for the company, allowing it to acquire and promote records with very specific records, some of which cannot be challenged by others under the terms of the contract between Guinness and the company.
