LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) – Three months after postponing his Peace Out farewell tour, Aerosmith Frontman Steven Tyler has officially announced his retirement from touring due to persistent vocal cord injuries.

Aerosmith’s Peace Out farewell tour kicked off in Philadelphia in September 2023 to rave reviews. Despite a strong start, the tour came to an abrupt end when Tyler fractured his larynx during a show in New York. Tyler revealed his vocal injury, saying: “It breaks my heart that I have been given strict doctor’s orders not to sing for the next 30 days. I damaged my vocal cords and suffered a hemorrhage during a performance on Saturday.” The rest of his 2023 schedule was postponed due to his injury. The band had planned to resume the tour in 2024 with 40 dates, starting in Pittsburgh on September 20, 2024 and ending in Buffalo on February 26, 2025.
Aerosmith released a statement reflecting on their journey and thanking their fans. “In 1970, a spark of inspiration became Aerosmith. Thanks to you, our Blue Army, that spark was ignited and has burned for over 50 years. Some of you have been with us from the beginning, and all of you are the reason we made rock ‘n’ roll history.
“It has been the honor of our lives that our music has become a part of yours. In every club, on every massive tour, and in epic and private moments, you have given us a place on the soundtrack of your lives. We have always wanted to surprise you when we perform. Sadly, it is clear that a full recovery from Steven’s vocal injury is impossible. We have made the heartbreaking, difficult, but necessary decision to retire from touring as a band of brothers.
“Lastly, I can’t thank everyone enough for having the pleasure of joining us on the road. Thank you to our expert crew, our incredible team, and the thousands of talented people who made this historic run possible. And finally, thank you to you, the greatest fans on the planet. Turn up the volume on our music now and forever. Dream. You made our dreams come true.”
