Conservative lawyer George Conway says he believes Donald Trump can be defeated if Democrats make him the “problem.”
“I always thought this election would be relatively easy,” Conway said in an interview with the anti-Trump network MeidasTouch published Monday.
In 2016, Coney argued that Trump won because his opponent, Hillary Clinton, became an “issue.” In 2020, Coney suggested that the former president became an issue because of his actions and his harsh comments about COVID-19.
“And the problem we’ve had over the last three or four weeks is that Joe Biden is becoming the issue when Donald Trump should be the issue,” he added.
Trump’s campaign “was wise to try to keep him as secret as possible, but his narcissism made that difficult,” Cornei said.
“Now that the Democrats have nominated their nominee and are united behind their nominee, it’s time to go back on the offensive,” he argued. “This is how Trump loses. If Trump is the problem, he loses.”
He added that “the reason Trump is helping to solve this problem is because he is a narcissist and he can’t help but create problems for himself.”
Joe Biden announced on Sunday that he would drop his reelection bid and endorse Vice President Kamala Harris as the party’s nominee, ending weeks of pressure for the president to drop out of the race after stunned Democrats with his poor performance in the presidential debates.
The Trump campaign has long attacked Biden for his age and fitness for office. At 78, Trump is now the oldest presidential candidate in history.
