Marnus Labuschagne capped off his county season for Glamorgan with a record-breaking bowling performance in the T20 Blast against Somerset in Cardiff on Friday.
The Queensland leg-spinner took career-best figures of 5-11 in 2.3 overs, including his maiden triple wicket, as he helped Somerset to 123 runs in 13.3 overs at the Sophia Gardens.
It was the best bowling performance by a Glamorgan player in the T20 format, besting Graham Wegg’s 5-15 against Worcestershire in June 2013.
Brought into the attack in the 10th over, Labuschagne cleared Somerset’s tail by beating rival skipper Louis Gregory, with the remaining four outs bowled out apiece.
With Gregory’s departure they fell dramatically to 7-35, with Glamorgan going on to win by a landslide 123 points.

Earlier, Glamorgan posted 4-243 from 20 overs, the highest team total in the T20 Blast this season, with captain Kiran Carlson winning the trophy and batting first to score a career-best 135 (64).
However, the Welsh county were not good enough to progress to the knockout stages, winning six of their 13 matches and finishing sixth in their group.
Labuschagne, who returns to Australia this week, finished the T20 Blast with 228 runs at odds of 20.72 and 15 wickets at odds of 12.86.
