“I saw my name in the headlines last week that it was the upgraded dumped ex who left me for a younger woman,” Frankel, 53, shared on the “Just B” podcast on Sunday, July 7. “He was this constant story that he was under the radar, but now he was in a serious relationship with someone, he had a girlfriend, he met her family, he met her kids. She met his kids. He was in a serious relationship. He bought her gifts. They were a new unit.”

“It was definitely shocking and embarrassing,” she continued. “To hear that my ex-fiancé had been with another woman right after our first date, to be inside their relationship and hear about their sex and their gifts and meet each other’s children, the level of commitment was devastating.”

“Everyone has experienced a breakup with someone and then another breakup with someone else. We’ve all been there,” Frankl explained on Sunday’s podcast episode. “Now I multiply it by 100 because I read it all day, every day, through articles.”
The former Bravo star said what upsets her the most is that Bernie is portrayed as someone who is “under the radar” because she too can be seen as a “villain.”
“In this case, I’m the one who’s off the radar,” she continued. “Ironically, I’m the one who’s off the radar. And I just want to say, okay?”
Frankel also provided more details about their split, revealing that she was the one who “initiated” the breakup earlier this year.
“I wasn’t happy, and something had to change. It was definitely mutual,” she said. “There were difficulties in the relationship, and no one was abandoning anyone.”
Elsewhere in the episode, she added: “To be honest, it wasn’t the relationship I wanted, and it wasn’t the person I wanted to be with anymore. There were a lot of reasons why I really had to accept it.”
Seeing Vernon change his life, Frankl feels like he’s reliving the events of their breakup all over again.
“It was hard because I had to go through the same breakup twice, but the second time was much harder. I had to hear every detail. And, you know, I let the truth get in the way of a good story. I’m in therapy,” she concluded. “I’m working on myself. I’m confident. I’m single. I’m independent. I’m happy. And I’m going through this.”
