Mary Trump continues to urge voters to take action after a tumultuous week.
“What scares me more than the thought of my uncle returning to the presidency is the thought of Republicans taking control of the House and Senate,” President Donald Trump’s nephew wrote in his newsletter “The Goodness Within Us” published Thursday.
“Both chambers, especially the House, are very likely to be filled with even more extreme sycophants who hate the Constitution with the same blind passion they hate women and minorities.”
She wrote that without Democratic control of the Senate, her uncle, if elected, would have the opportunity to replace Supreme Court Justices Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas with younger appointees who could “destroy the lives of the next four generations of Americans.”
She imagined a House filled with “far more” extremists, like Republican Reps. Lauren Boebert (Colo.), Matt Gates (Fla.), and Marjorie Taylor Greene (Georgia), who would “rubber stamp the Donald’s agenda, target his political enemies, and refuse to fund the war in Ukraine.”
She urged voters to support President Joe Biden despite the campaign being thrown into disarray by his weak debate performance last week, suggesting people “pick a race or two, pick a Democratic senator who is at risk or a vulnerable Republican in the House and get to work.”
“Now that we know the Supreme Court has guaranteed that Donald can operate outside the Constitution with impunity, we must find other ways to stop him,” she added.
She has put out a series of rallying calls to get people to support Biden and the Democrats, following the debates and the Supreme Court’s surprising ruling that Trump has absolute immunity for official acts while in office.
Mary Trump said in a post Thursday that the Supreme Court’s ruling was a “chilling but compelling reminder” that it was equally important to stop those who supported her uncle, whose plans to dismantle American institutions would be “probably even more destructive to our country.”
