India women’s opener Shafali Verma scored the fastest century in women’s Tests against South Africa at Chepauk on Friday.
The 20-year-old reached 100 runs off 113 balls, breaking Janet Brittain’s record of 137 balls set in 1984.
Fellow opener Smriti Mandhana also completed her century immediately. She moved up to second place on her list with 122 balls.
