Estonian cricketer Sahil Chauhan broke the record for the fastest century in T20s with his six-wicket win over Cyprus in Episkopi on Monday.
The 32-year-old, playing his fourth T20I, hit three doubles and an unbeaten 144 off just 27 deliveries at the Happy Valley Ground.
Chauhan hit 18 sixes during his onslaught of 41 balls, which is also a record in T20Is, and helped Estonia chase down the target of 192 runs with 42 balls to spare.
The fastest century in previous T20Is was 33 balls, achieved by Namibia’s Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton against Nepal earlier this year.
Chauhan also broke Chris Gayle’s record for the fastest hundred in men’s T20s as the West Indies icon crossed the record of 30 deliveries in an Indian Premier League match against Pune Warriors in 2013.

“I love this person. Hugely talented but the most humble, caring, listening and hard-working cricketer you would ever want to work with.
“No one deserves it more than Sahil Chauhan.”
Surprisingly, Chauhan was dismissed for a golden duck in Estonia’s series opener against Cyprus at the same venue.
Estonia leads the six-game series 2-0, with the third match scheduled to begin on Tuesday.
