‘Here we go again’
In a post on LinkedIn, The Intercept’s Quinn Duffy posted the following:
‘Here we go again.
The team at Intercept Games will be laid off starting June 28th, so a great group will be stepping up and looking for new roles. Same goes for me.
I got to know the designers pretty well in my very short time there. These are incredibly smart and talented people and I am happy to vouch for their qualifications. And the same can be said about other fields. Overall, nice people.
Kerbal Space Program 2 is a fun game, immersive, and incredibly beautiful even in early access. I hope I get a chance to check it out.’
In 2020, Take-Two Interactive opened Intercept Games in Seattle, Washington. The team was tasked with developing Kerbal Space Program 2, which was subsequently bombarded with reviews on Steam following news of the studio’s closure. Comments on Take-Two Interactive’s firing of its team boast a recent review rating of ‘overwhelmingly negative’.
It is the latest in a long line of closures of the industry that have led to nearly 20,000 workers being laid off from the start of 2023.
