Green Bay Packers at Atlanta Falcons, 1 p.m., Fox
Line: Packers -1.5 | Total: 40.5
Aaron Jones had 127 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns (one receiving, one rushing) and had just 11 touches against the Bears to open the Jordan Love era for the Packers (1-0). Helped. The young quarterback’s poise (he threw three touchdowns without an interception on Sunday) will be tested against the Falcons with Jones and receiver Christian Watson out with hamstring injuries.
But the Green Bay defense recorded four sacks against Chicago, and that pass rush could rattle Atlanta’s second-year quarterback Desmond Ridder, who threw for just 115 yards against Carolina in Week 1. The Falcons’ passing game should be tough again, but don’t expect the 28th-ranked Packers defense in 2022 to contain rookie top-10 pick Bijan Robinson. Choose: Packer -1.5
Las Vegas Raiders at Buffalo Bills; 1 p.m., CBS
Line: Bill -9.5 | Total: 47
Four careless turnovers by Josh Allen cost the Bills (0-1) a loss against the Jets’ strong defense. He could bounce back against the Raiders (1-0), who face uncertainty about the playing status of two key contributors. Defensive lineman Chandler Jones was away from the team last week due to a conflict with staff that spilled over into a since-deleted rant on social media. He will not play again this week, as will the team’s second-leading receiver, Jakobi Meyers, who entered the concussion protocol after being leveled on the closing drive against the Broncos. If Allen is more accurate and changes his downfield looks to suit Stefon Diggs, the Bills could run away with this. Choose: Bill -9.5
Los Angeles Chargers at Tennessee Titans; 1 p.m., CBS
Line: Charger -3 |Total: 45
This is coach Brandon Staley’s third season for the Chargers (0-1), and so far it has been characterized by poor defense and lack of situational awareness. Last week, the Chargers allowed the Dolphins to gain over 500 total yards, and a pass interference penalty on cornerback JC Jackson gave Miami the opportunity to kick a field goal before halftime. Loss.
