Germany will be looking to add another medal to their trophy case when they enter the women’s soccer competition at the 2024 Summer Olympics, which begins on July 25. The group stage begins a day before the Opening Ceremony in Paris and features six games, including a clash between hosts France and Colombia. Germany, drawn in Group B with four-time Olympic champions the United States, are looking for a fifth Olympic medal. They won bronze at three consecutive Summer Olympics from 2000-08 before beating Sweden to win gold at the 2016 Rio Games. However, Germany failed to qualify for the 2020 Games.
According to the latest 2024 Olympic odds, Germany is the favorite at +1000 and the United States is the favorite at +160. Spain is +200, France is +375, and defending champion Canada is +1600 in the 2024 Olympic odds. He was also solid in Premier League picks this year, going 30-22-1 (+7.07).

2024 Summer Olympics Prediction
One surprising thing is that Green is avoiding France, who are making their third appearance at the Summer Olympics. France failed to qualify for the first four tournaments and will not be participating in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. France are yet to win a medal, having lost 0-1 to Canada in the bronze medal game in London in 2012 and in the quarterfinals in Rio four years later.
This year’s tournament marks the end of Hervé Renard’s tenure as manager, which began in March 2023. Having managed several men’s national teams and Ligue 1 side Lille, the 35-year-old has a chance of leaving with some hardware, as France’s roster is loaded with talent. Veteran striker Eugénie Le Jomer is the club’s all-time top scorer with 93 goals, defender Wendie Renard is fifth with 38, and striker Marie-Antoinette Katotto has 30 goals in just 41 games.
“France have won just one major tournament, the SheBelieves Cup in 2017,” Green said. “Their recent campaign has been marred by injuries to key players and internal strife within the squad. Les Bleus are second in the FIFA world rankings, but they were so thoroughly outclassed by Spain in the Nations League final earlier this year that it’s hard to justify betting on them for Olympic gold.” Check out Green’s other predictions at SportsLine.
