The Oregon Ducks are one of the latest college football teams to unveil new uniforms for the 2024 season, releasing photos of the retro-style uniforms on July 18.
Let’s take a look at the latest uniforms from across the league.
Oregon Ducks
The video unveiling the “Gang Green” uniform combination, which pays homage to the team of the same name in the 1990s, featured Oregon legend Alex Molden and current Ducks linebacker Justin Jacobs.
The second in a new “Generation O” series, the new uniforms are primarily green and yellow and bring the “O” helmet back into the rotation. Yellow wings surround the green “O” logo along the front of the jersey collar, while a more modern Duck logo appears on the shoulders. The green jerseys are complemented by yellow name and numbering, according to The Oregonian.
This combination is expected to be one of the key uniforms for Oregon heading into the Big Ten this season.
Tennessee Volunteers
The Vols have unveiled the “Volunteer State” edition of their “Smokey Grey” series, which includes a grey home jersey with “Tennessee” written across the front. This will be the first home jersey in program history to feature the state’s name on the front of the jersey, rather than the traditional “power T” logo.
The state flag is prominently featured on the uniforms, with references to the flag’s three stars on the shoulders, pants and back of the helmet. According to ESPN, Tennessee will swap its customary orange jerseys for gray ones on Saturdays this season.
Boise State Broncos
The Broncos plan to wear updated blue, black and white uniforms this fall, while also introducing a variety of styles next season.
Design elements that appeared on previous uniforms will remain, including a blue collar with the word “Blue Collar” on each uniform, and the Broncos have announced that there are a whopping 64 different combinations possible.
Ole Miss Levels
The Rebels’ alternate away uniform for this season is a new white jersey with powder blue stripes and red logo accents on the numbers, which comes with white pants and a white helmet. The launch video features star wideout Tre Harris.
Minnesota Golden Gophers
The Golden Gophers’ new uniforms for the upcoming season will feature Minnesota’s traditional maroon and gold colors, with white uniforms for away games. Minnesota will also retain its current alternate black uniform as an option.
The most significant change is the addition of shoulder stripes to the jersey and stripes on the sides of the pants. Additionally, the Maroon jersey features gold numbers, unlike the previous Maroon jerseys which had white numbers.
All three jerseys feature a main outline on the outside collar, while the team’s anthem, Ski-U-Mah, is featured on the inside collar. The iconic Block M remains on the front of the jerseys, and the Big Ten logo is on the right chest.
West Virginia Mountaineers
One of the more notable uniforms the Mountaineers will wear next season is the black-and-black “Coal Rush” alternate uniform.
“When developing the new uniforms, it was important to us to combine our rich history and tradition with modern technology,” said Vice President and Director of Athletics Len Baker. “We also wanted people to immediately recognize that the West Virginia Mountaineers are playing. I believe our design team and equipment staff, along with our partners at Nike, have done a great job of creating these uniforms.”
